Ryan Salamone
Janesville, WI

Whether he’s working with photography, acrylic or oil, Ryan Salamone’s style can be described as twisted and provoking, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. From street style art to surrealism, Ryan’s designs are certainly one-of-a-kind and you can get a front row seat to his work at DEVIATE.

Ryan will be showcasing his paintings and drawings and will also be doing some live photography. Want to wear something fun and unique? Good. It’s highly encouraged and Ryan will be there to capture your best angles during his photoshoot. There will be no shortage of fun at Ryan’s booth, so be sure to check him out when you DEVIATE on October 15.

Can you tell us some information about your art? How would you describe it?

I work with several different mediums including oil, graphite, acrylic and photography. I'd like to describe my art as twisted, uncomfortable and provoking. It lends itself to urban street style art, realism for some of my work and surreal.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I'm inspired by the things around me and like to explore the thoughts and ideas that all of us have that may not be comfortable.

What's the process like? I would like to say that the process for me is a way to relieve stress, but I actually find myself becoming stressed out during the process.

Where can we find your work? Examples of galleries, stores, and events you have been involved in. Best way to find my work is to contact me directly and you can do that through Facebook or on Instagram @ryan_a_salamone

What are your future goals for your pieces?  I just want to continue and push the boundaries with myself through my work.

What is your background? I've been creating artwork my entire life and have always been evolving. I've been inspired by family members and being exposed to artwork early on in life. I've done a couple art lessons, but I mostly self-taught.

Why should people come to DEVIATE? Why should people come to check out YOUR booth at DEVIATE? DEVIATE is exactly what I've had in the back of my mind for many years. I've always wanted events like this to happen that mix the art scene with rave culture. Folks need to come out and see new things. And I believe this area has a lot of potential for interesting events like this to continue happening. I think you'll see a variety of work when you check out my booth. I will have my paintings and drawings, but I will also be doing a fashion inspired photoshoot. If you're in the crowd and you have a specific look you can rest assured, then I'm going to ask to take your picture. So, dress fly, look great and bring a good vibe.
