Mya Giuliani, the creative force behind Weezard, a Milwaukee-based basement studio, is set to make her mark at DEVIATE Beloit. Specializing in gritty, all-analog relief prints, Mya draws inspiration from 70s punk, space operas, retrofuturism, high fantasy, and the stark beauty of urban decay.
Aside from selling prints, Mya plans on bringing her massive letterpress to her booth space to offer a live demonstration of her ritualistic production process. Weezard is a Milwaukee-based basement studio specializing in grimy all-analog relief prints.
What inspires your art?
70s punk, space operas, retrofuturism, high fantasy, urban decay
Knowing DEVIATE is an experiential, interactive art event, how do you envision participating and building your booth?
I'd have prints for sale, yes- but I'd also print live in the booth with my (huge, heavy) letterpress- showcasing the ritualistic production process.
How did you find out about DEVIATE and why do you want to be involved?
Facebook- I like any kind of opportunity to present art in an atypical way.
