T Stubbz has been making music in some form or another since he was just 16-years-old. Since then, he’s traveled across the region performing, recording and releasing both solo and group projects. Over time he’s perfected his craft and focuses on being versatile, incorporating untraditional sounds into his music and giving the audience the best performance and something they haven’t heard or seen before.
T Stubbz recently released a new album and he’s ready to showcase what he’s got this September at DEVIATE. Grab your friends, grab your tickets and get ready to do something different!
Tell us about your music? How would you describe your style/sound? As a hip-hop artist, I aim to focus on both lyricism and composition in my songs. Whether it be a laid-back R&B vibe or an upbeat party or street record, there’s a consistently passionate and punchy flow incorporated.
Where do you find the inspiration for your music? As a fan of many genres, I stay inspired by being versatile. I enjoy selecting production that bring untraditional sounds and instrumentation into rap records while still staying true to my style.
Where can we find your work? Any links? What other events have you been involved in? My latest album is available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and all other major streaming platforms.
What do you want us to know about your music/style? I love the process of conceptualizing and songwriting. With the help of my engineer and collaborators, my latest project “Avant-Garde” features 10 tracks in which I personally selected all the beats and wrote the choruses that myself or featured artists provided vocals on.
What’s your background? How did you get into music? Give us a little history! I started writing/recording at age 16. Over the course of the last 15+ years I’ve been a part of releasing 8 group/solo projects, countless shows across Iowa/Illinois, and have opened for many major artists. I get the most enjoyment from live performances and always strive to give the crowd a great show.
What are you most excited for about DEVIATE? Why should people come out to DEVIATE? I love the concept of an interactive/multifaceted event like DEVIATE! I’m excited for people to be able to experience the many styles of art on display and feel there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
How did you hear about DEIVATE and why did you want to be part of the second annual event? I saw the call for artists on Facebook and instantly knew I had to submit for this year's event. I can’t wait to join all the other artists in being a part of this unique event.
