DJ Mahogany
BELOIT, WI
Have you ever listened to music and couldn’t help but dance? DJ Mahogany is a Beloit local who hopes to make you move on October 15 when he brings his electronic beats and sounds to the stage at DEVIATE.
Coming from a family where music is in their blood, Leonte Connor has been DJing for over two decades. His set is going to be a spiritual experience where he’ll match his beats to the vibe of the event for a truly one-of-a-kind sound. Hear it for yourself when you DEVIATE this October in downtown Beloit.
Can you tell us some information about your music? How would you describe your style/sound? I have an eclectic genre style; I would describe it as being melodic electronically based dance music from the 80's, Italo disco and house music.
Where do you find the inspiration for your sets? The overarching theme of each event is important but being able to read a dance floor verbatim helps with mood changes and creates room for spontaneity.
Where can we find your work? Examples of galleries, stores, and events you have been involved in. I've promoted and performed shows at the Beloit Fine Arts Incubator. Most recently I performed there with Ryan Salamone, photographer and artist; I performed a live PA implementing synthesizers for patrons. For more references my Instagram and Facebook: @glitchymusic
Is this your full-time job? If so, where do you work? I have been a cosmetologist & DJ for over 20 years.
What are your future goals for your work? I would like to be involved in more events in the community.
What do you want us to know about your music/style? I believe music is spiritual, I offer a unique and captivating experience.
What are you most excited about for DEVIATE? I'm very happy to be a part of a creative and cutting edge event in my hometown. Deviate is a great opportunity for the community to come together for something refreshingly different.
